Working with Reports

Sentinel EMS provides you with the ability to produce reports with valuable business information, based on data in the Sentinel EMS database. With this, managers can obtain data for analyzing how their software is used and the purchasing preferences of customers. The information can also be leveraged to maximize revenues from license renewals, to up-sell existing customers, and turn trial users into buyers.

This chapter provides an overview of the Features and options available in the Reports functionality. Sentinel EMS reports provide access to selected current information from the Sentinel EMS database. Different predefined reports are available to meet various requirements. The reports provide information in tabular form and, where applicable, in a graphical chart.

The Reports functionality can be accessed using the Reports tab in the main menu. On clicking this, a list of the available reports is displayed in the left pane, organized by category. This window enables you to specify parameters for a report and generate one for immediate viewing in the format specified. You can print the output file or save it for later use. The output format can be Comma Separated Values (CSV), Rich Text Format (RTF), Adobe Acrobat (PDF), HTML, or Microsoft Excel (XLS) files.
